Hi! My name is Jen Kraft.
Kraft Studio PDX is an evolving personal project of creative exploration, whimsy, and community-building.
It started as a “brand” to label my personal creative projects in a cohesive way, but now I want to boldly share my art with the world, and I want to encourage others to find their own artist within.
My promise to you is that my content will always be entirely AI-free, and all community events will be screen-free, offline experiences where you can connect with your inner child, other humans, be in the present moment, and get a much-needed antidote (joy, novelty, and connection) to the current state of the world.
Further, Kraft Studio has:
no hidden costs or separate material fees
a community-first focus, with regular FREE events
a welcoming & safe environment for the anxious
the belief that everyone has creative capacity
the belief that the only bad art is AI “art”

Currently, I host a free monthly event at libraries called Sew Social PDX. My goal for 2026 is to expand into monthly (to start) community art experiences, craft kits, and limited-batch drops of handmade products.
I hope to offer you unique and inspiring experiences that you won’t find anywhere else, at a competitive rate.

I want to make art and community feel more achievable for people who are introverted, socially anxious or neurodivergent, missing a sense of connection, burned out, or just feeling stuck and uninspired. Workshops can be as interactive or as independent as you want. The environment will be relaxed and casual, yet still a rewarding and refreshing experience. If you have any concerns, questions, or special accommodations requests to feel comfortable attending, send me an email before you register!

One of my primary goals is to offer low-cost experiences so that there is a lower barrier to entry for a wider range of people. “Affordable” means something different to everyone, but for now I aim to offer competitively priced workshops in the $12-50 range, with all material fees included, never separate.
In the future, we may offer more specialized workshops with a wider range of cost, due to the materials and expertise needed to offer them. But I will always prioritize your experience rather than an excessive profit margin.

we believe you don’t need to be a skilled artist to make good art
One of my favorite things about this city is that there are a plethora of opportunities where you can learn almost any specialty skill! But those classes can be a big investment of time and money, and that doesn’t always work with people’s budget or schedules. For some of us, anxiety, neurodivergence, or imposter syndrome can also make it feel intimidating to enter a creative space.
Kraft Studio is anti-perfectionism, anti-overthinking, and anti-automation. All are welcome, and sessions will be priced and described clearly so you know what to expect before you arrive. Just come hang out and make art, even if it’s quick and dirty! It’s good for the soul. Art is for everyone.
We are all craving novelty, connection, and reprieve from reality, and I want to make that available to you low-cost, low-mental energy, and in your limited free time.
